A Billberg Entertainment Ltd Media Release
JACOB BUTLER SIGNS A EUROPEAN PUBLISHING DEAL WITH AMV-TALPA, A LICENSING DEAL WITH EMI GREECE AND SECURES A SCANDINAVIAN RELEASE WITH BILLBERG ENTERTAINMENT.
In what continues to be an amazing run of success in Europe, Australian singer songwriter Jacob Butler has signed a pan-European publishing deal with Hamburg based publishers AMV-Talpa, a licensing deal with EMI for Greece and Cyprus and a Scandinavian deal with Billberg Entertainment.
This publishing deal highlights the remarkably high quality of Jacob’s songwriting, and will see his work pitched to agencies for major TVC campaigns and Films throughout the UK and Europe. AMV-Talpa is one of the largest independent music publishers in Europe, and represents a catalogue of over 140,000 songs. This includes works from AC/DC, David Guetta, Pitbull and Michael Jackson to name a few. Talpa also own the publishing rights to ‘The Voice’ internationally, and are very keen to get Jacob writing for other artists.
Jacob has also signed a licensing deal with EMI music Greece, who plan to release ‘COME MY WAY’ in Greece and Cyprus later this month, with ‘REASON’ to follow later in the year. Further to this, Jacob has also secured a Scandinavian release with Stockholm based indie-label Billberg Entertainment, who are releasing Jacob’s debut album in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland this year.
These further European signings follow Jacob’s debut single ‘COME MY WAY’ peaking at #47 on the German mainstream radio charts, and subsequent signings with VERY US (GSA), Universal Music (Poland, Bulgaria) and The Gresham Co (South Africa). “It’s fantastic to be gaining some more traction in Europe,” says Jacob. “I can’t wait to get over there later in the year to promote the album and play some shows.”
This caps off a fantastic first half of 2012 for Jacob, who has also scored an international content deal with Billabong and Sony Mobile, a major TV sync in Australia with Warner Brothers theme parks, and has confirmed support slots for Finnish superstars Sunrise Avenue in Germany during October. Plus with finalist nominations in the International Songwriting Competition for his track ‘MIND WALTZ’, and a nod from the MuzicOz Awards in Australia, it seems that 2012 is shaping up to be a very good year for Jacob Butler.
Jacob’s brand new single ’UKOK?’ was released to radio in Germany this week. The video, which was directed by Jacob and was shot on location in London, can be viewed here.
